Also, you can get caught up on last week’s episode of Blue Bloods season 7 right here! Tonight’s episode of Blue Bloods season 7 started off with a man and his daughter in a corner store when two men with guns come in and shoot the store owner and rob the store. We find out that he is an off duty Sergeant and after the media gets a hold of that information, Frank is forced to call him into his office to find out why he didn’t step in.
Meanwhile, Eddie and Jamie get a call about a homeless person living in the parking garage of an apartment building. Her and her roommates were evicted from their apartment because there were seven of them living in a two bedroom. That was the only way they could pay their rent and now she is living and working from the garage of the building. Jamie tells her that she needs to get her and all her stuff out of there as soon as possible and gives her his card in case she needs anything else.
When the Sergeant gets into Frank’s office, Frank asks him how a decorated officer would choose not to help in this situation. He tells Frank that he was in the store with his daughter and he chose to protect his daughter and when Frank tells him that as officers, they are taught to run towards danger, not away. The Sergeant tells him that he made a split second decision to protect his daughter and if put in the situation again, he would do the same thing. Frank tells him that unfortunately, while under investigation he is going to remain on modified duty.
Meanwhile, the homeless girl shows up at the precinct and tells Jamie and Eddie that she moved all her stuff to the alley behind the building, but someone claimed that it was his spot and stole her work computer. They are able to get her computer back and Danny then asks Eddie if the girl could stay with her for a couple days. Eddie says she doesn’t want to take her job home with her, literally.
Danny and Baez are dealing with a woman who is harassing her ex’s new girlfriend. Later they get a call to the ex’s house, Brandon Mitchell, where they find him dead on the floor. The girlfriend is there and tells them that it had to be his ex, Emily, but she didn’t get a look at the shooter. They were gone before she got downstairs.
Eddie shows up at Jamie’s house to find the homeless girl, Tara, in Jamie’s apartment. He offered to let her stay there until she finds her own place. You can tell Eddie is jealous of this situation and it starts an argument between them before Eddie leaves.
Danny finds Emily in a park after she calls him to tell him to meet her for her side of the story. First he asks her if she still has the gun she bought a few weeks ago and she tells him she does. He then tells her that he is going to need her to give it to him, she puts it on the bench and he reads her her rights. She tries to tell him that she didn’t go over there to shoot him, but he reminds her of her right to remain silent and she decides not to talk to him.
Frank gets a call about the Sergeant, he is in the hospital after running towards the danger while unarmed because of his modified duty. After leaving his room, he goes to talk to his mother and daughter and after telling them that if they need anything, consider it done, the daughter gives Frank a piece of her mind. Asks him if he called her father a coward and Frank tells her that he would never. She tells him “good because he is actually very brave and calling him anything else would be wrong.”
Meanwhile, Erin is talking to Emily about Brandon’s shooting and she tries to tell Erin that Brandon abused her and when she asked him to stop dating Liza, he attacked her. There is a rape allegation, but it was never proven and because of that the Chief Assistant District Attorney is telling Erin that they will be seeking the maximum sentence in this case. Erin tries to tell her that she doesn’t think that it necessary in this case and she is told to have a good day.
Jamie and Eddie are not really talking, but Jamie tells her that they need to talk about it. She tells him that she is worried about him ruining his career and hers, but it is coming off as her being jealous. At the Reagan dinner table, things get a little heated when talking about both the Sergeant not stepping in and Emily being charged with murder.
Later Frank tries to talk to Erin about her fight with Danny at the table and tries to shed light to the situation. He knows that deep down Erin doesn’t agree with these charges and she knows that her lawyer isn’t going to be able to win this. She isn’t going to get a fair trial with a lawyer who has never been through a murder trial. She tells Frank that it isn’t her problem, he tells her that she needs to make it her problem if she knows that Emily isn’t going to get a fair trial.
Erin goes to a former colleague of hers who is now a defense attorney, also the former lawyer of Brandon’s for the rape accusation. She explains to the defense attorney that she doesn’t think Emily’s current lawyer can adequately defend her given the lack of evidence. Erin is trying to talk her into being Emily’s lawyer. She is able to convince her to become Emily’s lawyer and she is able to convince Liza to testify that she actually did see the assault and Emily acted in self defense. I have to say, when Erin and the Chief ADA are confronted by the defense attorney, Erin plays it off pretty well that she didn’t know anything about this.
Meanwhile Jamie calls Tara’s boss and she tells her that she is the best assistant she has ever had and for her to think that she would fire her because she was homeless was ridiculous. She offers her the apartment of someone out of the country on business and tells her that she will help her find suitable housing. Later, Eddie goes to talk to Jamie again and tells him that him saying she was jealous was true. She tells him that she is also jealous of every time he goes out on a date or talks about a girl that he is interested in.
We end the episode off with Eddie admitting that she has had feelings for Jamie for a long time and she really needed to get this off her chest because she needs him to know that he is more than a partner to him. He admits that he also has feelings for her, but they have been down this road before and it’s not a good idea because of them working together. She agrees with him and then asks him if they are good. Before leaving, she turns around and kisses him and then tells him “good talk, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Frank goes to the sergeant’s house and tells his daughter that her father told her that the worst part of being in the hospital is not being able to walk her to school and asks if he can step in for him for a while. She agrees and tells Frank that her father is mad at her for yelling at Frank and he tells her that he has a daughter that also yells at him all the time and laughs it off. As they are walking, she notices the security detail following in Frank’s SUV and asks if they are coming too. He tells her “yes, but after a while, you won’t even notice them.”
