I’m not going to lie, I’m disappointed. I know what you’re saying now, firstly, I’m not American, and secondly, was the other option better? The first one is true, and the second, not necessarily. I think everything went down the drain the moment Bernie Sanders was no longer a valid choice, but like I mentioned in the Parks and Recreation‘s writer reply to the US Elections in Leslie Knope’s voice, we need to stay united and fight against the destruction, and this is exactly what Ellen DeGeneres is doing, being her perfect, awesome self.
During The Ellen Show, she first addressed the results on Thursday, 10th November, and shared jokingly:
“You may have heard that there was a presidential election on Tuesday. The big winner was alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Obviously, a lot of people were disappointed by the results. My job is to be hopeful and to make everybody feel good. And I’m gonna keep doing that for as long as I can. I will do it because I love you.”
“At times like this, it’s important to remember what Eleanor Roosevelt said: ‘It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.’ And I think that is a beautiful thing and I believe you should also remember what Kanye West once said: ‘Blocka, blocka, blocka, blocka, Pour a little champagne, cranberry vodka.’”
So yeah. That’s exactly what we think.
