It looks like we could be heading toward Webber being fired on Grey’s Anatomy Season 13, as Bailey and Chatherine brought in an education consultant to check out things are run with the residents. This meant tensions were very high tonight on Grey’s Anatomy 2016 and everyone was walking on egge shells. Check out all the intense action for the “Why Try to Change Me Now” episode on TGIT below in our Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 Recap!
Last week on Grey’s Anatomy 2016, we had the return of Dr. Leah Murphy, which got a lot of the other doctors in a tizzy and not sure why they would bring her back. We saw Catherine wanting Bailey to get rid of Alex, but she talked her out of it. However, it looks like she wants changes to the residency program and does that mean Webber will be getting fired??? Alex dealt with a pregnant woman in the clinic that had cancer after his diagnosis and it was a matter of terminating the pregnancy to live longer or a risky surgery to try and save the baby, as it brought on many, many tears!
Warning: This post contains spoilers from Grey’s Anatomy tonight on ABC, so stop reading now if you don’t want to know what happened!!!
We start with Meredith saying if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, as we see Catherine and Bailey talking about some lady being there and she will be there for four days and it is the right decision. Amelia and Owen walk in arguing about gas, as she tells Alex everything is fine between them. Then an email comes around about an education consultant coming. Alex thinks it is his fault. Edwards blames Ben for it, as he did the c-section in the hallway. Webber tells him it is not about him. Arizona said she is safe. We then see a trail of students walking through. Webber is yelling at Bailey for not telling him about her coming. She said she is just there to observe and give recommendations. Webber wants to meet her first, but Bailey said she is already there and with residents!
We see the consultant talking with the residents and wants to know who they love and who they hate. Jo said she is here for two days, but they have to work with them. The consultant said nothing leaves those walls and a ton of hands go up! Does this mean the end of Webber on Grey’s Anatomy Season 13?
We see Riggs, April, Maggie and Arizona watching as the consultant talks with the residents. April’s phone goes off and Arizona calls her out as she is on Tinder! She said it was just for fun and hasn’t deleted it yet. Webber meets with an old lady and said her gall bladder is inflamed and she’ll be back in her bowling shoes in a couple weeks, but want to do a cardiac assessment first given her age. Webber then asks DeLuca how the meeting went, but he is not giving any details.
Now it is time for Amelia and Owen fighting over a room and patient, as the wife yells at the patient! Tension is definitely high between Owen and Amelia. Meredith is doing a surgery with Ben and the consultant comes in to watch and she wants Ben to help out and Meredith said he has never done it, but the consultant has not given up. After the surgery, Meredith yells at Webber for telling the consultant to come watch her during surgery. He said he did not send her in. She said he is the director of the residency program and needs to get rid of her.
Arizona, Maggie and Jackson head to the clinic and it looks like Maggie found a list from the consultant and it ranked the attendings and Maggie is not happy, as she is on the bottom! We see April getting a ton of notifications from Tinder and asks Edwards to silence it, but it looks like she may have found one of the guys interesting. Owen and Amelia continue to fight over the patient and who is going to do what with him. Now the old lady is doing a stress test and she starts having some issues and they have to get her some oxygen. It looks like she may have had a small heart attack. They talk about surgery and her friend said they need her on the bowling team, so she goes with it.
It looks like Owen won with his procedure on the patient, so now Amelia will do surgery in the morning. He is leaving for the night and she said she is staying there in case anything happens to him. She needs to just talk to Owen about the baby, as their marriage is already going to crap because of it! Webber talks to Bailey and he wants this consultant gone and no one likes her. He said he will talk to her and tell her to just take an observatory role, which Bailey said no. She said she told her to take an active role and talk with staff so she can give a proper decision, which upsets Webber. He said they built this residency program together and now this lady is going to tear it all down. Bailey said medicine is always changing and we need to change with it or get left behind!
We see April heading out on a date and Jackson does not look too happy about it. Why can’t they just get back together and stop this madness? Now we see Ben babbling on and on about the consultant and trying to get some info out of Bailey, but she said nothing. He asks if she is alright and she asked if she is doing the right thing and he said yes.
The next day comes and Jackson asks April about her date and she said it was amazing and they are going on a second date that night. Owen and Amelia continue to fight, as the consultant comes in. They come up with a solution and Edwards under the bed and checking his incisions so his guts don’t come out. The consultant said Owen has done these surgeries before, so why isn’t Edwards assisting and him checking the guts, which Amelia loves! Then we see Maggie working on the old lady and she asks Leah how she is doing and she said that sometimes she goes too fast and can’t keep up and learns nothing, as Maggie finds and issue with the patient and they need to go to surgery stat!
Maggie, Leah and the consultant are scrubbing in for surgery and Webber comes in. He said her age makes this surgery dangerous and not a teaching moment. Things get tense in the surgery, as the consultant is trying to switch things up and Webber is not happy. Jackson talks to April and said maybe they should keep the dating talk to themselves and it is him, not her. She said the date went horrible and she doesn’t know how to do this!
It looks like everything went well with the surgery for Amelia and the wife is asking if she can sleep there that night. They have been married for 20 years and she missed him the night before and could not sleep. This gets Amelia thinking, since she stayed away from Owen the night before. Back to the old lady surgery and Leah is doing a lot and it just gets awkward with Maggie. Then the consultant wants DeLuca to start helping with the blood vessel, but Webber said it is the vessel that would allow this woman to live or die and he doesn’t want a first year doing it. The consultant continues to push the subject and then ends up nicking the vessel and blood flies everywhere! DeLuca actually stops the bleeding. Outside of the room, Webber goes off on the consultant. She said they got to see what DeLuca truly knew and there were four surgeons there to stop the bleeding if DeLuca could not. Now we know there were five and Webber knows she is right. It may be crazy, but it does make sense. Ugh!
Maggie said that the lady is going to be fine and that was humiliating, but she was right. She is an ass, but she was right and Maggie is not a good teacher. We then see the old lady’s friend come ask how she is and said the bowling is to keep them active and not watching TV all day and it keeps them in the game. So, it now shows Webber he needs to stay in the game! Owen and Amelia fight and she finally tells him that she does not want a baby! Arizona was not on the attending list, so she confronts the consultant and said she is one of the best teachers! It looks like the list was just for her to remember their names and she could not forget a name and face like that, so maybe a new love interest for Arizona??? Then we see Jackson eating nachos and April wants some, but then gets a text and it is the date. He tells her to go and she finally agrees to go. Amelia shows up at Meredith’s house and asks to stay there, but Alex tells her to go home and face the issue. She said she told Owen, so he said she can have his room.
Now we see Bailey and the consultant talking and she wants her to come on and she said she will think about it, but if she takes it, she works alone and does not share leadership, so no Webber! This worries Bailey, as Webber comes in and the consultant leaves. He said he can get used to her and hopes she comes on. Um, I don’t think you do Webber!
