On tonight’s episode of The Walking Dead 2016, the group is introduced to a new community that seems to be pretty well established. Will this new community on The Walking Dead season 7 be too good to be true? Keep reading my The Walking Dead 2016 recap right here to find out. Also, if you missed last week’s The Walking Dead season 7 premiere, check out my full recap right here to get all caught up! Tonight’s episode of The Walking Dead season 7 started off with a look at Carol and Morgan being helped out of a pretty big walker situation by a bunch of people on horses. Carol is brought into their community on a buggy pulled by horses, I’m sitting here wondering where the horses came from. After a couple days of sleeping, Carol wakes up and finds herself inside a community called The Kingdom and it’s run by a name named King Ezekiel. He wants to meet with Carol now that she is awake. When she gets there, she is surprised by Ezekiel’s pet tiger.
When asked what she thinks of the kingdom and what she thinks of the king, she couldn’t have gotten more fake with her response. She is really sucking up to Ekeziel who seems to be really full of himself and she is really just trying to play along with things. When they are leaving, Morgan stops and she says “you are shitting me, right?” She is ready to leave and tells Morgan that she will leave when she is ready and without him or anyone else knowing.
Later we see Morgan helping some of the others from The Kingdom feed the pigs, but the pigs are feeding on walkers which is probably not something the rest of the people should know. They are also trying to teach one of their own to defend themselves against walkers, but it didn’t really work out very well. Morgan starts training him when they get back to The Kingdom.
Carol is up to her own tricks, she is talking to one of the guys there about their food and how good it is and how all they had where she comes from is opossum. She asks him for a tissue and when he turns his back, she snatches some clothing from the table. Meanwhile, Morgan and the kid he is training are called over by King Ezekiel and some of his men. While they are talking about something, a group of people come to get the pigs that they caught earlier in the episode, the ones they were feeding walkers. The group talks briefly of an arrangement that they have together, I believe that this group might be from Negan’s group.
Morgan seems to be fitting into The Kingdom pretty well and he is doing all that he can to help them because they are helping Carol. When he goes to talk to Carol and bring her some dinner, she isn’t in her room and all he finds is her robe in the wheelchair she had spent most of her time in over the last couple days. Later, Carol is found in the garden by Ezekiel and she plays it off like she wants to leave because she isn’t any good to them anyways. Like she feels bad that they are caring for her and she can’t help out around the community. Ezekiel tells her that “you can’t bullshit a bullshitter” and tells her that her sweet and innocent act isn’t working with him.
He tells her that he knows the guns they had when they came there were the Saviors guns. She then starts laughing at him and he asks why she is laughing, she tells him because he is a joke and that’s what you do to jokes, you laugh at them. He then sits down and tells her that he became what he is to the people of The Kingdom because they all looked up to him for saving them and he didn’t want to disappoint them.
He then tells her that when it came to Shiva, the pet tiger, he has told them all stories about how he wrestled her into submission and made her his pet, but in all reality, he was a zookeeper before everything happened and he helped her with an injury when he worked at the zoo she lived at. He continues by telling Carol that after everything, he found himself back at the zoo and she was the only animal left. He told her that everything the people believe to be true, isn’t. Except for his name, his name is really Ezekiel. She tells him that she doesn’t care what he does, she just wants to go and he tells her he is sorry. She asks for what and he tells her for all the bad she has been through.
After talking a little longer, he tells her that he thinks he can help her, if she will let him. He then offers to get her stuff together and have someone he trusts meet her at the gate and let her go, without actually going. This would allow her to come back is she needs to.
We end the episode off with Morgan bringing Carol to the gate and Carol leaving. The first thing Carol does is goes into the house right outside the gate, kill the walk inside and bury it. She then builds a fire in the fireplace and moments later, Ezekiel knocks on her door and tells her she really needs to try one of the pomegranates that he has been ranting and raving about all episode.
