If you missed last week’s episode of Blue Bloods season 7, check out my Blue Bloods 2016 recap right here! Tonight’s episode of Blue Bloods season 7 started off with Frank finding out that there is a whistle-blower out of one of the high crime precinct. His name is Officer Eric Carlson and now Frank, Gormley and Garrett have to find out if the information he is feeding to others has any merit. Meanwhile, Erin lands a case that involves a piano teacher who is being accused of having possession of child pornography.
Danny is leaving the office when he hears a young woman yelling in the middle of the street, but you can’t really understand what she is saying. She is clearly drunk or on some kind of drugs. Danny is trying to get her to step back onto the sidewalk and out of the street, but she is hit by a car before he can get close enough to help her out of the street. When Danny gets to the ME’s office, she tells him that she was not only drug, but she had a gram of cocaine in her system and fresh needle marks behind her knee.
We find out that the piano teacher had to have brain surgery for epilepsy and had a portion of her brain removed, it’s the impulse control portion of the brain. Erin tries to get a specialist to look at her scans and she thinks that the defense might have a case that this is what caused the piano teacher to do these things. Erin needs to find a way to shut down this defense.
Danny and Baez go to the restaurant that their victim, Rebecca, worked in and while they were talking to the owner, one of the other waitresses give Baez a look. Baez goes to talk to her and tells her about one of the bartenders at the restaurant and Rebecca were an item. Danny and Baez go to talk to the boyfriend, Danny asks him where he was and he claims he was at another bar helping out until last call. He tells Danny that Rebecca was supposed to meet with him after work, but she never showed because they had a fight. Danny then asks where she could have gotten the drugs she was on, but he tells Danny that he doesn’t know.
Danny goes to talk to Rebecca’s mother, she was already on her way to the states shortly before Rebecca was killed. She was coming over because Rebecca wanted to blow the whistle on the drug dealing going on in the restaurant she worked at and then fly back home with her. We also find out that Rebecca’s boyfriend, Shawn and another guy that works with them were the ones dealing the drugs.
Later we see as Danny and Baez go to the other bar that Shawn was working at the night Rebecca was killed. He gets permission to go through Shawn’s locker and they find cocaine in little pocket sized vials. They find Shawn trying to skip town and arrest him. He tells Danny that Rebecca knew about the drugs, he told her so that she knew that he would be able to support her.
Frank goes to pay a visit to Officer Carlson and he tells Frank that he has been trying to get a sit down with him for a year to talk to him about this. Frank asks him what his next move is and he doesn’t answer. Frank gives him his card with his personal phone number and email on it and tells him that he is going to see what he can do about getting him out of the hospital. He ended up there after Captain Gibson showed up to Carlson’s apartment and after a screaming match, Gibson called for backup and had him committed to make him look unreliable if it is proven that he is a rat.
We end the episode off with Shawn and the other bartender he was dealing with, Eric, meeting up and he asks him about Rebecca’s death. He is able to get Eric to admit to killing Rebecca, this is after Shawn pulls a gun but we find out that it was a fake that Danny and Baez gave him. Eric and Shawn wrestle over the gun and it goes off and Eric is the last person holding it. They were able to get the confession on the wire and arrest Eric.
Meanwhile, Erin isn’t able to help the piano teacher out. The judge believed the defense, but she failed to report her actions and get help. Carlson gets a sit down with Frank and Capt. Gibson and attempts to make a case, but he doesn’t have hard evidence. He is able to arbitrate this meeting between Carlson and Gibson successfully and allowed each of them to see that they both have reasons to feel the way they do because they both work in different times. The Captain is used to old fashioned police work and Carlson is a newer officer and policies have changed and some tools that officers once had, they no longer have. Frank dismisses them and makes them ride back to their precinct together.
