Castle alum, Stana Katic, is set to return to television next year starring in AXN’s new drama Absentia. This will be her first television appearance since Castle, Katic has been making her way around the movie front having starred in a number of indie movies this year.
After her dismissal from Castle, Stana Katic went on to star in a number of movies ranging from Sister Cities, The Rendezvous, and Lost in Florence – which will air this year – as well as her one night stage performance in White Rabbit, Red Rabbit. Deadline announced that Katic is set to return to the small screen next year in AXN’s new drama Absentia. This will be the first television performance by Katic since Castle. She was fired alongside Tamala Jones due to budget cuts, the decision wasn’t taken well by fans and the show was eventually canceled at the ABC upfronts in May.
Katic will be playing an FBI agent who disappears for six years after hunting down a notorious serial killer. She is found in a cabin, barely alive and with no recollection of the years she’s been missing. Her family and friends all thought she had died and have moved on with their lives. Her life is thrown for another roller coaster when she becomes the main suspect in a series of murder investigations.
Absentia will begin production early next year. AXN has ordered 10 episodes of the series to premiere next year.
