NBC was very happy with Simon Cowell as a judge on America’s Got Talent this past summer that they made sure to keep him around as long as possible, as Simon Cowell signed on to be a judge on AGT for three more seasons! No huge shocker there, as Cowell is also the creator of America’s Got Talent, so why would he not return as a judge?
To be honest, I loved Simon as a judge on AGT 2016! We definitely saw a new side of Simon and while he was harsh at times, he was much more jovial and friendly. I guess becoming a dad has softened him? Either way, Simon, it does not look like you will be needing to sell your home anytime soon, as you are sticking around the States for another three years!
Simon said, “‘America’s Got Talent’ is a fantastic and, most importantly, fun show both to work on and to watch. NBC have been brilliant partners and the entire team who make this show are one of the best in the world. I’ve loved this past season and look forward to discovering more great talent together in the years to come.”
Paul Telegdy, NBC Entertainment’s president of alternative and reality group, added: “It was terrific to see Simon in his judge’s chair this past season, bringing his unique expertise and enthusiasm to the show, night after night. His brilliance has made ‘AGT’ the industry leader that it is today and his ability to evaluate and spot talent is unmatched, so we couldn’t be happier to have him seated at the judge’s table for the next three years.”
For America’s Got Talent Season 12, Simon will be joined again by Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Mel B at the judges’ table, as all have signed on for Season 12. Nick Cannon will also return as host!
