Mason and Lee’s tense relationship grows even more volatile beacause use of Flora’s disappearance. One day, Lee, Shelby, and Matt find a trail of dead pigs. They follow them to find two young boys eating the pigs like savages.
At the police station, the police officers determine that some people were secretly squatting on their farm. Mason arrives and wants to try to intimidate the children into giving Flora’s whereabouts. They offer nothing and only scream “croatoan.”
Later, Mason accuses Lee of hiding Flora from him. He even physically attacks her about it. Mason leaves only to be discovered later burnt to a tree. Shelby and Matt watch some security footage that places Lee out of the home when Mason was murdered. They start to suspect that she may have killed him.
Lee overhears them discussing their suspicions. She starts to confront them about it, but a man appears in their home. He introduces himself as Cricket, a psychic who helped find many missing children.
At first, they’re all skeptical but he gives them specific details about Flora’s disappearance. He tells them that she’s alive and with Pricilla. Pricilla is a ghost child from the 1500. Cricket then gathers Lee, Matt, and Shelby to channel the spirits.
When trying to call Pricilla, someone called “The Butcher” appears. They have an intense collision with her, but it ends with Cricket telling them that he needs $25,000 to continue to help them.
Shelby, Lee, and Matt all respond angrily and kick him out. Then he mentions Emily in passing.
The crew from “My Roanoke Nightmares” asks Lee to talk about Emily. When Lee was younger, she had a five year old daughter who vanished.
The mention of Emily gives Lee all the confirmation that she needs about Cricket’s abilities and she pays him the $25,000. He then tells Lee she needs to learn everything about her enemy to combat her. Cricket tells the story of Thomasin White, now known as the Butcher.
Thomasin was married to the governor of the Roanoke colony. He ventured off to get supplies and put Thomasin in charge. The men of the colony wanted to head inland for the winter, but she denied their request.
The men, including her reluctant son Ambrose, rebelled. They chained her up and left her in the woods to die. As she laid dying, she repented and surrendered her soul. Some form of demon creature woman appeared.
She offered Thomasin an animal’s heart for her soul. Thomasin takes it and then kills all the rebels, but spares her son. Cricket tells Lee that Thomasin will kill them all for complete control of that land.
Matt, Cricket, Shelby, and Lee find Thomasin and strike a deal. They will burn their home in exchange for Flora. No one told Shelby about this offer, so she confronts Lee, who tells her that Matt agreed to it.
Shelby calls to Matt to get confirmation but he disappeared. She finds him in the woods (possibly possessed) having sex with the demon woman.
Matt returns home, with no memory of previous events, to find Shelby at home. She confronts him about agreeing to burn down the house and his “affair.” He denies the affair. When Lee arrives, the police arrest her (for presumably burning Mason). Shelby turned her in.
