Keep reading to find out what happened tonight on Law & Order: SVU 2016, you are not going to want to miss a moment of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit season 18!Tonight’s episode of Law & Order: SVU started off with a woman walking with a young boy when she is hit by a guy on a bike, but the boy has run ahead of her and didn’t see it happen. Benson gets a call from Carisi about the boy being found without his parents in the park and Benson goes to where an officer has the boy playing in a sandbox. When Benson is talking to the boy, it doesn’t seem like he speaks English, but she tries to get the boy to come with her and that’s when the boy pulls a gun out! They are able to disarm the child and get him to a hospital to be checked out.
We find out that the woman who was hit by the bike, didn’t make it. The woman that was with him is an aunt who was taking care of him for his mother. The mother, Anna, works at a restaurant as a waitress but when they get there, she isn’t at work. The manager tells them that she was always coming in with bruises, like she was abused by a boyfriend or something.
Benson runs into Dodds Sr. who is very short with Benson when she tries to talk to him, it’s seems like he is still blaming her for his son’s death. Meanwhile, they get a lead on the gun that the boy, Ali, had in his bookbag. It is registered to a man named Lukka Terzik, but when they get to the apartment, no one is home. They find a photo of Lukka, Anna and Ali in it and some smashed computers with missing hard drives. They also find an arsenal of weapons in a closet, Benson has them call ESU, Joint Terrorism and the Bomb Squad based on what they found.
While looking into Lukka, they find out that someone has been paying his rent and the address on the check is an office. They pay the guy a visit and find out that he is Lukka’s half brother and he helps him out because he is broke. They are able to get a phone number for Lukka, but he hangs up, smashes the phone and dumps it in a dumpster where SVU finds it. There is a passcode lock on the phone and Barba is able to get a court order to have it unlicked, but the manufacturer won’t comply.
They get a hit on a traffic cam of Lukka and Anna, they find them but not before Lukka shoots a bunch of innocent people. They end up shooting and killing Lukka and arresting Anna who is begging for them to help her. They bring her to the jail where Anna is being held because she won’t talk until she knows if her son is ok. Benson goes and tells her about what happened to her Aunt and that they found Ali alone in the park with a loaded gun. Before they can ask her anything, her lawyer walks in.
At Anna’s arraignment, they find out that Anna was raped and abused by her fiance and his brother and she wasn’t at the scene of the shooting at her own free will, she was forced to be there. Benson tells Barba that she is going to speak to Anna about her rape allegations and find out what happened. Benson finds out that Anna had been raped by them a couple mornings ago and shows her the bruises from where they beat her for hitting Lukka’s brother. Benson orders a rape kit and it shows that she was brutalized by Lukka and his brother.
Barba and Dodds think that she should still be tried for the shooting, but Benson is trying to tell them that she is a victim. Benson tells them that she can’t just not do her job and Dodds makes a comment about how Benson doing her job cost his son his life. He then leaves the room and Benson tells Barba that she is going to investigate a case that everyone wants her to ignore.
Benson is called to the stand at a hearing for Anna and she gets a lot of crap from Dodds and Barba about it. Anna’s defense is not going to win this case, but if she takes a deal they will be able to proceed with her rape case. The DA doesn’t want them to go forward with the rape case, but Benson is going to arrest Lukka’s brother, Armeen, anyways. When they get there, he is already being taken into custody by the FBI for talking to known terrorist groups in Bosnia. Ali is going to live with Anna’s sister in Bosnia now that Armeen can’t fight for custody due to being in custody.
We end the episode off with Benson and Tucker in the park with Noah at the end of a very busy day.
