The Rio 2016 games are underway and it was an exciting and scary weekend, but nothing seems to top the return of Aly Raisman and her parents to the Rio Olympics 2016! She may be cool and calm while performing with the US Women’s Gymnastics team, but her parents are a ball of nerves and NBC caught it all on camera for us to watch from the qualifying round last night!
Last night was the qualifying round for the women’s gymnastics and USA had a very dominating round, including Aly Raisman, who happened to qualify for the all-around competition for the second year in a row. She was dominating, but that does not mean her parents were not nervous for her.
In the video, her parents are watching Aly perform the uneven bars, which happens to be one of Aly’s weakest events. She nailed the uneven bars and qualified for the all-around finals, but Lynn & Rick Raisman could not keep it together during her performance:
It is hilarious to watch, as they are all over the place in those seats! Her mom has told People before: “I get nervous because I know what goes into it and how many hours she’s prepared and how hard she is on herself, and I want her to be happy and go out there and do the best performance she can do. So when it’s over, she is happy no matter the results, so I do get nervous. But whatever she was doing I want her to have the best outcome.”
Good luck to Aly and Simone Biles in the women’s individual all-around on Thursday and the team all-around tomorrow!
