Coleman Wasserman tries to convince Rachel Goldberg to destroy Quinn King on UnREAL season 2 episode 9. For a refresher on what happened last week, read my recap of episode 8.
UnREAL season 2 episode 9 opens with Coleman looking at the footage of Rachel opening up about the illegal activities on Everlasting while she was on drugs.
When Rachel finds him, Coleman tells her that Quinn is going to try to pin everything on them, so she needs to decide whether it’s her or Quinn.
Graham shoots an intro video for the date with the final three contestants. After Jay calls cut, Darius Beck pulls him aside to talk to him. He has doubts about choosing Tiffany James, but Jay reiterates that it’s the best thing for his career. Darius says that he can’t cut Chantal on national television and urges Jay to find a way to get Chantal to leave on her own, so that at least someone can leave the show with their dignity in tact.
When Rachel snaps at Madison, Madison informs her that she saw Yael sneaking out of Coleman’s room. She tells her, “The hot version of you is stealing your little boyfriend right out from under your nose, so who’s clueless now?”
Rachel asks Coleman about Yael. He claims to have no idea what she’s talking about. When he says that he was doing his job, Rachel reminds him that he doesn’t have a job on Everlasting anymore.
Jay sits down with Chantal. He tells her that Darius is going to pick Tiffany in the end. He tells her that every season runner-ups tell him that they wish they could’ve left before they got dumped and now she has the opportunity to do that.
Jay tells her that at the elimination ceremony, Chantal should tell Darius that she had a great time but that she’s just not in love with him.
Quinn complains about Jay’s producing. When he reminds her that he’s the one who brought Darius back, Quinn retorts that Jay is only producing him because he’s “the only one willing to be his little bitch.”
Madison brags that she still has two contestants in the running who she’s producing and that one is black. Jay tells her, “Calm down, Malcolm X.” He informs her that Chantal is dropping out. Madison says that he can’t do that. Jay says, “I can and did, so you better hope Hot Rachel brings it, bitch. Because she’s your only hope.”
Jay realizes that Chet Wilton turned the sprinklers on during Darius and Tiffany’s date. When he asks Chet about it, he claims that he was just trying to help the date along. Jay picks up on Chet’s demeanor and accuses him of sleeping with Tiffany. Chet says that he just kissed her. Jay is disgusted and says, “That’s so much worse!”
Rachel tells Quinn that she needs a moment she can build the episode around. Quinn looks at her with excitement and says, “I know that look. Who’s you target?” When Rachel says that it’s Yael, Quinn tells her, “Go for it.”
Rachel preps Yael for a sushi dinner date with Darius. As she walks off set, Jay asks what’s going on with her. He says that she seems way too happy and he wants to know what her “sneaky ass” is up to. She says she’s just producing the show.
After dinner, Yael tries to rush to the bathroom, but Rachel insists that they keep rolling. Jay watches the monitor and comments, “That girl needs to go.” Yael runs to the bathroom, but the door is locked. Rachel ends up shitting herself on camera in front of everyone. Rachel crouches down by her and says, “Maybe that white dress wasn’t such a good idea after all.”
Quinn is crying from laughing when she finds Rachel and congratulates her on that moment. Jay is angry and reminds Rachel that Darius wanted Yael for the final two.
When Jay finds Darius, he’s angry and says that this isn’t just about making him look bad, it’s terrible what they did to Yael. He says that now he can’t choose Yael over Chantal without looking ridiculous. Jay assures him that Chantal is dropping out and that now it’s perfect because the whole world will be on his side when he chooses Tiffany.
The crew watches the elimination ceremony. Jay tells Quinn that Chantal might surprise her tonight. Madison says, “I think she might surprise everyone tonight.” Jay realizes that something is going on. To his shock, instead of telling Darius that she’s going home, Chantal decides to get naked and join him in the hot tub.
Rachel talks to Quinn, bringing up Mary and all the other cover ups Quinn has been involved with. It’s revealed that she’s recording the conversation and Coleman is listening to it.
Jay asks Chantal why she didn’t bow out. Chantal says that she knows he’ll get a cash bonus if Tiffany wins. She says that after hearing about what happened to Yael, she likes her chances of staying in the running.
Coleman tells Rachel that he tapped her phone and recorded her conversation with Quinn. Rachel pretends to be happy with his actions and believe that he cares about her, but as soon as he leaves it’s obvious she’s mad as hell.
Coleman goes to Yael’s room and sees her packing to leave. He tells her that she can’t leave until after the finale and he assures her that he has everything they need to take Everlasting down.
Rachel tells Quinn that Coleman knows everything and that they need to stop him. She tells her, “Suck it up, I need you.” Quinn immediately says, “We’re taking that asshole down.” Rachel pulls her into a tight hug.
