About the author

Todd Betzold

I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelors of Science in Journalism and Broadcasting with hopes of having my own radio talk show…my dreams can still come true! In the meantime, I work in my pajamas and love anything and everything about reality television (well, except the Kardsahians, but I don’t think I am alone on that one). You can find me on here doing recaps, predictions and spoilers and just about everything else!

I noticed that Tregaye is going to be co-hosting a show. It seems like they had a show set up and were looking for someone to be on it. I think Ana should be the other co-host.

No. Both of the others did much better in all the contests.

Disappointed in that choice. Not someone I would watch. But since they stick them on shows in off hours no one will watch anyway.

  • I think Jenard offered an opportunity to broaden the audience and make incremental change. FN keeps picking very niche individuals who basically crash and burn after a few shows because their POV is so niche, there is not enough of a national FN audience to keep their show going. But FN has repeated this failure formula so often, who can expect them to change? I think Guy put it best, Jenard would be real competition. FN really does not want 99% of the contestants to actually succeed on FN, which is why they essentially sabotage results by picking contestants with such niche POVs over and over.

Jenard spoke like a baby and was always screaming. I personally think that the Cuban cook, although her personality was so so, would be a better option for those of us who want to learn how to cook something different. Jenard and Tregay don’t cook things that are different or interesting. Jenard blew GUMBO and he claims his POV is Cajun Comfort.

Not happy… Jenard was genuine…..Tregaye is forced..the language is annoying.. I want to watch food network not get schooled in the latest made up words and kitchy catch phrases…one less show I will watch on Food Network..you dropped he ball big time…

Sorry you feel this way. From Executive Chef at Sun Dial, to catering parties and events for me, this is her true character. Not a shtick for the show. Though you may not share the same perspective, I hope you will give her a chance. The production of her show might surprise you.

      • Ghost00

If that is her true character then she need to grow up and stop acting like a 2 year old.

          Fair enough…

Plain and simple, once again the wrong person was chosen the winner. Everyone I know is sick of her “Fleek and Poppin'” BS. I guess the real reason she was declared the winner is that she’s not going to be a threat to any of the current cast of chefs and will soon be gone from the network only to end up to be an answer to some trivia question.

No, you’ve got it wrong. Where to the other failed “Star” winners go?

Right… as a judge on Grocery Games, as a “celebrity” on Chopped, as a judge on Star Salvation, etc.

  • Irene Tritt

Or her stupid language pilot. She is speaking English right? Your network is going ghetto

  • Irene Tritt

I sure not watch this network again. Stupid

  • PHYLLIS STEVENSON

Congratulations Tregaye God bless you! Love Jernard too!

  • Dot

Boo on the food network. They don’t know how to pick a star as is evident from previous winners never getting a show. Tregay was on Guy’s Grocery Games. Food NEtwork recycles a lot of contestants. They are runningout of people

    • Alek Roz

they need to do open auditions and select people that never been on TV

  • gingerpuff19

I am so upset Bobby and Giada thought Jernard was better than Damiano. He should’ve at least been 2nd place. I, along with 80% of the rest of the audience, thought for sure he was going to win. Why? Because he should’ve! He was robbed. Jernard is loud and aggressive and annoying. Glad Tregaye beat him, though.

    • Dot

Damiano was the first to be told he would not be the next food network star. It was between the yeller and the ghetto fabulous girl. I don’t like either one. I won’t watch even one show. No one on this season was good.

      • Jen Ferris Larson

That’s how I felt. I stopped watching after about week 6 because the people I really liked had been eliminated. I wouldn’t watch any of the 4 finalists in a show. Sorry to say.

  • Mar51

I am sorry to see that Damiano did not win, but as a frequent customer at Carrara’s (the restaurants owned by Damiano and his brother Massimiliano) I guess this means I will get to continue to enjoy more of their delicious foods, decadent pastries and scrumptious , homemade gelato.

It is almost as good as a trip to Italy, and you don’t even need a passport.
