We got the chance to meet the new couples on Arranged on FYI Season 2 tonight and the whole episode just left me more and more ticked off! FYI has some explaining to do, as I don’t know how any of these couples on Arranged Season 2 are actually arranged and not just couples dating and now getting married based on their religious beliefs! Check out the details from the Arranged Season 2 premiere tonight below in our Arranged on FYI Season 2 recap!
Warning: This post contains spoilers from the Arranged Season 2 premiere tonight on FYI, so stop reading now if you don’t want to know what happened!!!
After watching the premiere, I am just going to do a little summary for each couple and go from there. Here we go:
Ben & Vicki – They are a Jewish modern Orthodox couple living in New York City. They met in elementary school, but were not friends. They actually met at a charity event in NYC years later and Vicki was interested in Ben, but they have to be setup by family or friends. So, they had friends introduce them and that is how it was arranged? Seems stupid, as now they are pretty much dating and big geeks! I like them and tonight’s episode focused on Vicki struggling with having to cover her hair as a married woman and trying on wigs. She took Ben with her and he said she looked beautiful and that is all the approval she needed.
Taylor & David – This is the hot mess of the season and no clue how they were arranged, but their families do not get along at all! Maleb, David’s mother, is not a fan of Taylor and doesn’t think she is good enough for her son. Taylor’s mother wants to lay the smackdown on Maleb, but Taylor is holding her back. Maleb got booted from helping plan the wedding, but they invited her to the bachelorette party and Maleb proceeded to send photos of the stripper on Taylor to her son! This lady is crazy and the wedding is about to happen, so that should be fun!
Maneka & Mayur – Maneka has traditional East Indian parents, however she went against her religion and married for love earlier in her life and it ended in divorce. She then started working for Mayur and he had the hots for her and said he would marry her after knowing her a month, so I guess that makes it arranged? She began to grow an attraction to him and now they are getting married, so again, isn’t that just flirting and dating? Mayur didn’t even ask Maneka’s father for his approval on the wedding and when he did, he did not approve. They aren’t even following traditions here, so how is arranged???? I am beyond frustrated with all of these couples!
