It’s date night at the Castle house, attire? Crime scene casual of course because they’re pulled into a murder Shakespearean style on this week’s Castle season 8.
First things first, this little girl stole the show! Ryan’s daughter, Sarah Grace, was in a school play that he was coordinating the dance of – until he got fired since the parents thought it was a bit much for preschoolers. She showed up at the precinct not wanting to go through with the play, because she forgot the words and needed her daddy. Cue the awes. Ryan decided to go through it with her and in the back you can see Espo moving along and mouthing the words. Espo who had just been making fun of his buddy, knew all the words. Not to mention little Sarah ran into Uncle Javi’s arms. This moment was precious and their friendship is clearly one to aspire to.
Back to the episode, the case involved a victim getting killed in the theater. After doing some digging it seemed as though he had gotten into some business with the cartels and may have led to his death. The head honcho was in town and wanted to make sure that he wasn’t convicted so he kidnaps Castle. Castle’s MO is getting kidnapped isn’t it? Playing the damsel while Beckett and Co. sweep in for the rescue? What’s he going to do when she’s no longer there considering Stana was kicked out.
Anyway, turns out the cartels were not responsible and the boss man just wanted someone to write his life story. He wanted to show that he was misunderstood. Like most people are. Wanted the world to see he wasn’t just a monster and he kidnapped Castle to get him to write his story. While they are wining and dining, Martha showed up at the precinct worried because her son had stood her up. With a few clicks of a mouse Beckett found Castle’s car and then realized something wasn’t right. After looking at the security footage she saw that her instinct was right. They sent a rescue mission to get Castle, killing people in the process and booking the boss man. Who later got out of custody and sent Castle a box of info to get the script started.
Speaking of Martha, we first found her in the vic’s bed. Yes that’s right, sound asleep. But it was anything but dirty. She had a very good reason, private lessons. Martha, Martha, Martha you’re almost as bad as your son when it comes to getting into sticky situations.
While all this was going on, Beckett had to plan their date night, which she had forgotten about. They have a routine where they one up each other for date night. This technique will get exhausting guys. Word of the wise, date night is about quality time together it really doesn’t matter how elaborate it is. Something Beckett soon found and decided a night in with take out was the perfect way to celebrate. Sadly this may be the last date night we see Caskett have.
Also, Castle got a YOLO credit card. Basically it’s a shiny new credit card that picks up on where you are, etc. I don’t see the point in this card, but it got Stana saying “Hashtag YOLO” which was awesome. Thank you for that.
Tune into Castle Monday nights to see how Season 8, Beckett and Lanie’s storylines wrap up.
