Tonight’s episode of Blue Bloods season 6 started off with Frank in his office with Garrett, Gormley and Johnny and they are talking about the budget. Then, Johnny mentions the Police Union Party that’s coming up and Gormley mentions that he should go, everyone would love to have him there. He tells them that he isn’t going because all it takes is one guest at the party posting a video on the internet to compromise the integrity of his office. He told Johnny that he can go back and report that he tried his best and he will have Garrett schedule a conflict to cover them both. Garrett agreed with Frank at first and then later he changes his stance on it.
Meanwhile, Erin and Anthony are talking to a witness in a murder about his testimony at trial and you can tell he is really nervous about this because he is going to put a target on his back for it. He asks to go to the bathroom and when he is in there far too long, Anthony goes to check on him, but he is nowhere to be found. When she does into the courtroom, the judge is not happy that she is late or that her witness is missing. Erin requests a material witness order to give them some time to find Willis and get him to testify.
Baez and Danny get a call for a robbery at a liquor store, the guy running it is dead behind the counter and there is a customer bleeding out in the back of the store. Danny goes and puts pressure on his gun shot wound and tells him help is on the way. The man that was bleeding on the floor is brought to the hospital and Danny and Baez ask him to describe the man who held up the store while he was in there. He tells them that he ran into the back when the gunman walked in and he must have made a noise in the back because the man came back there after him. He asked the guy not to shoot, but he shot anyway. Danny tells him he is going to send in a sketch artist to work with him.
Anthony goes to Willis’ grandmother’s house looking for him, but he isn’t there and she isn’t being very cooperative with him. She tells him that she isn’t going to allow them to put her grandson into an early grave. He “calls” Erin from his phone and claims that it died and asks the grandmother if he can use hers and asks for a glass of water. This gives him enough time to look through her call log and get a number for Willis. Anthony is able to get an address, but when Anthony gets there, Willis refuses to answer the door and runs. What he doesn’t know is he is running right into a group of cops and Erin at the back entrance of his building.
Danny and Baez get a sketch of their shooter, but it’s pretty generic so Baez runs a search on every known felon within a mile radius of the liquor, gets over 30 hits. So she compares the sketch to the mugshots of those felons and they get one match, a guy named Morgan Rutherford. They head to his job and find him there, he notices them and runs, but Danny is able to catch up to him. He has an alibi, he was in his parole officers office the morning of the robbery and shooting.
After accusing an innocent man of robbing this store, Danny starts thinking that maybe their own prejudices may have them believing the guy sitting in the hospital. He is a teacher, making $50,000 a year and he is in debt up to his ears, but they believed the story he gave them without thinking twice. Later Danny goes to visit Linda at work and brings her food, but this is to butter her up for some information on the shooting victim. She tells him that he isn’t acting weird, she says no, but no one has come to see him.
Danny then tells her that he is a science teacher with a masters in anatomy, he would know exactly where to shoot himself to make it look good without hurting himself long term. She mentions the gun and he thinks that he hid the gun in his bookbag and when he tells the victim that he has to voucher his bag in for evidence, he refuses to give Danny the bag or permission to open it without a search warrant.
Frank asks Gormley to go to the Police Union Party for him, but Gormley claims that he and his wife have something important to do and she refuses to move it. When Frank asks Baker to call Mrs. Gormley, Gormley’s story changes really quick and Frank talks him into going anyways. Gormley doesn’t want to go, he wants Frank to go so that the gap between the PC and the officers will close up a little.
Erin and Anthony are talking to Willis in her office and she offers Willis a deal that includes witness protection, but he doesn’t want to take it because he doesn’t want to have to leave everything he knows. She tells him that he doesn’t have a choice but to testify or he will be held in contempt, he tells her that a cell beats a coffin any day. She tells the officers to take him in and when Anthony goes to say something to her about this being the wrong thing to do, she tells him “not now, Anthony” and walks away.
Later Anthony finds out that Willis is being held next to the man he is supposed to testify against and he goes to ask Erin to have him moved. She tells him that she isn’t going to have him moved because she is the one who put him there to scare him into testifying. Later Anthony hands in his resignation from her detail.
Danny goes back to the hospital with a bomb sniffing dog which can also sniff out a gun, but when the dog doesn’t indicate that there is a gun, Danny gets upset. Baez tells Danny that they didn’t find a gun, because she thinks that he was working with someone. According to their financials, the victim’s wife is a compulsive gambler and Baez thinks that she took the gun from the scene of the robbery. When they follow the victim, Joe, to his house, they see him greeted by his wife, who has a bandage on her hand, possibly from smashing the glass case in the store.
The next day, Danny goes to talk to Joe while he is eating at a dinner to tell him that they caught the person who robbed the liquor store, shot him and killed the owner. He asks who it was and Danny tells him to turn around and Baez has his wife in cuffs. Danny tells him that they found blood at the scene that matches her DNA and he is also being arrested for accessory.
Erin goes to talk to Anthony and she shows him a video of Tereek and Willis in their holding cells. Tereek threatens Willis and tells him he is going to kill Willis the same way he killed that other guy. She brought the tape to the defense and the judge and Tereek got 25 years for confessing to murder and witness tampering. Earlier, Frank tells Garrett, Gormley and Johnny that he is going to cancel the party, but later we find out that he changes his mind about the party. While getting drinks later that night, Garrett tells Frank that this also made Gormley look like a hero because he was the one who stood up to Frank and told him that canceling the party would be a bad idea.
