Mouthguards, politicians and North Korea. Does that peak your interest? Because that’s what you missed last week in late night. With that in mind, check out the write-ups and videos below to see what all went down. You won’t be disappointed.
What do you get when you slap mouthguards on a bunch of celebrities and interview them on national television? A great segment on The Late Late Show, that’s what. Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Schaal stopped by The Late Late Show and after realizing they couldn’t chat about anything serious with mouthguards on, they decided to do a whole bunch of other randomness. You will not get through this video without wondering more than once exactly what is going on. Also take notice of how James Corden creatively decides to blow bubbles.
Conan O’Brien made history last year by filming a talk show in Cuba for the fist time since 1962 and last week he one-upped himself by filming in North Korea. Throughout the segment, the tensions of the region were explained in a rather serious manner, but then Conan’s sarcasm and jokes took center stage as he mocked soldiers throughout the bit alongside Walking Dead star Steven Yeun. Evidently soldiers in Korea wear sunglasses at all times, literally. See if Conan and his crew made it out in one piece.
Stephen Colbert always has great political segments on The Late Show and last week his subject was none other than Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz. Colbert helped make a slight mockery of the Republican race for president with this particular segment, coining a new slogan for (lyin’) Ted Cruz’s campaign, “Abandon All Hope.” Colbert outlined the current Republican race and basically made it seem like the other candidates were such a joke that people were endorsing Ted Cruz because he is the only legitimate option to win.
